Young Adult (2011)

Sorry for the delay, I watched this last night.

I’m starting to get back into the flow of regularly watching more movies again, and this one was a good one to start back with, directed by Jason Reitman.

It’s the story of Mavis, the once-popular teen queen of the Minnesota small town, Mercury where she is a writer of young adult fiction series that is on it’s deathbed. She is divorced and an alcoholic who decides to go home to get back her former lover, who is happily married and recently had a baby girl. When Mavis visits, while at a local bar she befriends an old classmate, who went through lots of bullying during his high school days who all help her show how to grow up.

Young Adult is a dark comedy with serious matters, which is something I always enjoy.

It was more for more entertaining value, as there wasn’t anything out of the ordinary for production values.

Go watch it, it was a better than expected.
